Note: Harold Cohen was an important figure of the abstract impressionist movement in Britain. His abstract compositions share features with the work of his brother, the famous painter Bernard Cohen, with both artists exerting a significant influence on the shape of abstract art in Britain. This artwork is a typical example of Harold Cohen’s striking and energetic images. His work is held in the collections of the Tate and the Arts Council in Britain, and has been exhibited at the Tate, the Brooklyn Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.
