A helmet, almost certainly a theatrical prop, probably early 20th century, of sallet form and in medieval taste, cast with an integral foliate coronet and inset with semi-precious stones and glass, the interior bearing an indistinct paper label inscribed 'No: 7... Bristol', approximately 25cm high, 24cm long It is presumed that this was made as a prop for a production at the Theatre Royal in Bristol, the oldest continually-operating theatre in the English-speaking world.
