A Continental yellow painted wood and composition architectural element, probably an overdoor or wall bracket, early 19th century and later, of cavetto form the shelf above the acanthus and scroll frieze, 29cm high, 169cm wide Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, the painted surface later, the red on the acanthus frieze appears to be the bole layer - there are some remnants of the gilding present to it in places. The surface with flaking and losses revealing the underlying composition in places. there are two areas of later vertical inset timber to the back where the hooks have been added - probably for additional stability.
