An Iberian walnut table, late 17th century, the rectangular top above the frieze carved with hobnail panels within geometric borders and containing two short drawers, on square section supports joined at the ends by stretchers 78cm high, 207cm wide, 83cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, Wormed throughout, the legs and lower stretchers especially affected, this almost certainly had a central stretcher that has probably perished previously, the end stretchers each with a central groove where this sat. Old splits and cracks and losses to timber elements, one drawer with an old and possibly original handle, the other with losses to the centre where probably a handle once was placed. One drawer with additional applied leather to the drawer lining to apparently replace lost timber. Some woodworm holes have been filled - this is mainly to the top but the large majority remain open. Some signs of previous repairs including some butterfly cleats to the underside of the top. Some spliced replacements too. Please note this condition report is not exhaustive of all faults, potential purchasers should satisfy themselves as to the exact condition of this table before bidding Condition Report Disclaimer
