A French silver double gilt rounded rectangular snuff box, 1798-1809 petit garantie poinçon and Double, with engine turned panels within scroll foliate borders overall, inscribed Sarah Todd Astor 1818 to the lip, 8.4cm (3 1/4in) long, 119g (3.8oz) Condition Report: There is a split to the lip of the box lid, 8.4cm x5.1cm x 2cm, the hinge is working, further possible repair, inscribed Sarah Todd Astor 1818, slightly rubbed. There are punctures to the underside of the lid, but as the lid appears to be a double skin it doesn't go through to the top.
