A Victorian gold Scottish hardstone brooch, circa 1870, the circular panel set with polished shaped panels of bloodstone, red and yellow jasper, banded agates, and further Scottish stones, centred with a circular cut citrine in a raised open claw setting, 4.9cm diameter, 29.2g gross, in original green leather box stamped Thomas Ross Manufacturing Jeweller 107 Buchanan St. Glasgow. Condition Report: No noticeable cracks to panels, one panel has a small section missing to the tip, only noticeable under close scrutiny, some small chips, panels do not appear to be replaced, the brooch clasp is a replacement which has been lead soldered on. The case has some wear and discolouration commensurate with age, it has a makers mark AK &Co. Condition Report Disclaimer
