Y A George III satinwood and tulipwood bookcase, circa 1780, in the manner of Mayhew & Ince, the moulded cornice above a 'fluted' inlaid frieze flanked by patera terminals, above a pair of glazed doors opening to three adjustable shelves, flanked by tapering pilasters, the lower section with a pair of oval inlaid panel doors opening to a shelved interior, on a plinth base, 226cm high, 146cm wide, 43cm deep Provenance: Property from a Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler Interior, London For a bookcase with remarkably similar fluting to the cornice and ovals to the lower doors and using the same timbers see, Christie's, New York, The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller, 10th May 2018, Lot 738 (£93,750).
