A Regency oak three tier etagere, circa 1815, rectangular tier with a pierced trellis three quarter gallery, on turned tapering legs, terminating in brass caps and castors, 89cm high, 84cm wide, 33cm deep Provenance: The Earl of Shelburne (see titled label with crest to underside) For an almost identical etagere almost certainly from the same workshop see Christie's London, Important English Furniture, 5th April 2001, LOT 68 (£8,812). Please note: The estimate for this lot should read £1,200 - 1,800 and not as printed in the catalogue. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits and chips. Castors stamped 'COPE'S PATENT'. Some later securing tack and filler used to disguise to elements of the galleries. The gallery of the middle tier with some small peg dowels used to help secure elements - this has been neatly executed. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
