Attributed to James Dixon & Sons, an electroplated and glass biscuit barrel in the manner of Dr. Christopher Dresser Late 19th/Early 20th Century, faint maker's marks, numbered 29410 The clear glass held in a metal frame with cover and hinged over head handle; together with an electroplated toast rack the dividers spelling 'TOAST', indistinct marks, EPNS, Handsoldered, 56 Barrel with handle down 16 cm high; toast 11 cm high (2) Provenance: Sheldon Shapiro and Co. 7th June, 1994; Payne & Son (Goldsmiths) Limited 7th March 2006 Biscuit barrel - faint makers marks, can just make out a bugle hence attributing the James Dixon & Sons. Glass - not damages detected. Metal with light natural wear and tarnishing. Toast rack - light natural wear. The cross of the 'T's slightly bent. The maker's mark is something - -- & S Ltd - possibly I.B.C & S Ltd.
