A patinated bronze bust of the Pseudo-Seneca after the Antique, possibly Chiurazzi, Naples, later 19th century, on a waisted circular socle, 22.5cm high The present model is a reduced cast of the original excavated at Herculaneum in the mid-18th century, and appears in the 1911 catalogue of the Chiurazzi foundry, no. 5616. A larger cast of the model was sold at Christie's Amsterdam, 4 April 2012, lot 33 (EUR 5,625)
