A pair of Italian giltwood altar candlesticks, 18th century, each 110cm high (not including spikes) Condition Report: Both with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Evidence of old worm. Some chips and losses to edges and extremities - see images. Gilding refreshed in areas. Gilt surface with rubbing and losses. Both with replacement sections of timber to feet. Both with holes drilled to undersides for wiring. One with section of cut wiring still present. It is likely that the spikes are later associated as these where previously fitted for electricity.
