A George III mahogany and crossbanded serpentine fronted chest of drawers, circa 1770, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, 98cm high, 122cm wide, 62cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions throughout comensurate with age and use The top is very neatly crossbanded. Some old chips and splits. Handles and locks are original. Lacking keys. The rear panels and drawer linings are original and solid oak throughout. The feet are laminated, some of the blocks supporting the feet are lacking. There is a red wash present throughout the underside of the chest and laminated blocks present. There is old worm damage (holes) mainly only visible to the laminated blocks of the feet and to a lesser extent other areas. The base of the feet possibly shortened/ reduced to a degree by wear.
