An Italian painted and silvered side or console table, circa 1770, the top painted to simulate marble, the frieze and legs incorporating silvered detail throughout, 85cm high, 137cm wide, 67cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. Wear and areas of loss to the gesso preparation of the surface, paint and silvering throughout commensurate with age and use. The table is of solid structure No old breaks or repairs to the legs. The stretchers of timber supporting the top from the underside are possible old replacements Old worm damage, This is mainly visible from the underside of the top and reverse of the frieze where there are fragmentary losses.
