An early Victorian burr oak bookcase, circa 1845, by Johnstone & Jeanes, the top of one door stamped 'JOHNSTONE & JEANES, 67 NEW BOND ST, LONDON', 242cm high, 125cm wide, 52cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits, chips and small losses to veneers. Some splashes of white pain to underside of one drawer to the interior of the glazed section. The rear side edges of the lower section have been cut away slightly in order to fit over a skirting board. No key present, all locks are open. Filler/putty to some of the holes in the interior of the upper section for the shelf supports. This could have been to help secure previous fixtures.
