A Victorian 'Boulle' marquetry and gilt metal mounted bureau de dame, in Louis XIV style, circa 1860, the hinged front opening to a velvet inset writing surface, two slides above wells, and three short drawers, 92cm high, 77cm wide, 48cm deep For closely related bureau see, Bonham's, London, Period Design, 9th February 2010, Lot 12 (£3,600). Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Some wear, rubbing and deposits to gilt metal elements. Tortoiseshell with some splits, small losses and old repairs - see images for details. Brass inlay with some knocks, areas lifting slightly, and some old repairs. Key present and operates lock.
