PETERSBURG, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY CENTURY comprising four eggs painted with: a) white and violet hibiscus flowers against a white ground, the verso with Kh. V. in Cyrillic for Khristos Voskres [He is Risen]; height: 10.5 cm (4 1/8 in.) b) white and violet poppies against a greenish-cream ground; height: 10 cm (4 in.) c) a bouquet of pink roses and tulips against a powder blue ground; height: 11 cm (4 3/8 in.) d) a floral garland centered with Kh. V. in Cyrillic; height: 11.5 cm (4 1/2 in.) each with later three-footed bronze stands CONDITION The group is in overall good, stable, age-appropriate condition, with no in-painting apparent under UV light. a) Rubbing to the lettering on verso, resulting in loss of color. b) Three hairline cracks, two shorter and one long, originating from top and extending down the body. c) Some surface dirt and darkening, minuscule losses to gilt around the holes. d) Scattered chips to the bottom hole.
