A BERLIN PORCELAIN VIENNA STYLE GARDEN SCENE VASE, W. SCHNIDER, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY of baluster form, with two handles formed from a mans head, one side of the vase features a scene titled, Unter Amors Fuhrung, with two women in a garden scene, one sits in a boat with a winged putti and the other leans from a railing, the other side features a scene titled, Bei Der Nymphe, with a woman dressed white tulle with a man dressed in a pink toga sitting on the ground holding a wooden lute both in a garden scene, both in gold gilt cartouches, the body features gilt anthemion continuing to both the waisted neck and base, on a square plinth with the two panels featuring garden scenes in gilt cartouches, all against a cobalt ground, with a cover featuring a acorn finial, both signed W. Schneider lower right of each scene, Bei Der Nymphe numbered 1556 lower right;overall height: 61 cm (24 in.) CONDITION In age-appropriate condition. Overall surface dust visible, most notably around the square plinth and base. Rubbing to the gilt on the handles. Inspection under UV shows no apparent signs of restoration or repairs. N.B.
