A RUSSIAN GOLD, SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH, WORKMASTER KONSTANTIN LINKE, RETAILED BY BOLIN, ST. PETERSBURG, 1890-1908 formed as two intertwined snakes centered around a faceted sapphire with four diamonds at the corners, in fitted retailer's box with imperial eagle stamped on cover, 56 standard, town marks, workmaster's mark K.L in Latin for Konstantine Linke, all marked on loop and hook; width: 2.2 cm (7/8 in.), weight: 6.9g LITERATURE For a similar brooch, see W.A. Bolin in Russia. Court Jeweller. Late XIX-Early XX centuries, pp. 167. Edited by Christian Bolin and Pavel Bulatov. CONDITION Observed with a loupe, the brooch appears in very good original condition. No apparent issues visible to the naked eye, with significant issues to report. N.B.
