炉作簋式，平口外撇，颈部收束，腹部圆弧微垂，底承圈足略高，以彰显挺拔之气。炉身两侧对称趴伏螭龙为耳，口衔炉壁，突目翘角，身躯粗韧蜿蜒，脊骨连珠状突起，花尾颀长柔美，环绕器身各半周，四爪攀附炉壁，动态十足，颇有气势。 此炉最为特殊之处在于明清铜炉多以简素为主，类本品以类似竹木牙角雕刻之高浮雕技法装饰纹饰者，并不多见，且此件铜炉工艺上乘，铸造考究，若炉内燃香，不消几时，香气满沐殿堂，观烟丝袅袅升起，亦真亦幻，有如仙境。
