A French medieval sword, circa 1400-20 Narrow, double-edged blade of flattened diamond section. A copper-inlaid mark stamped on one side. The ends of the slightly ridged quillons curving slightly towards the blade. The original grip with cord winding covered in black leather (rubbed, imperfections). The circular disc pommel with pronounced nubs on both sides, the conical riveted button attached separately. Length 97 cm.Rare, early sword.
