A knightly sword, Passau, 1st half of the 15th century Slender double-edged thrusting blade of flattened diamond section. The upper third with incomplete date "144?" inlaid in brass on one side, behind it inlaid bishop’s staff of the episcopal swordsmith workshop in Passau. On the reverse a cross inlaid in brass. Extensive quillons slightly curved towards the blade with square profile. Slender, slightly tapered tang with biconical octagonal pommel. Length 119.5 cm. Condition: II - III
