Flemish school; XVII century."The three Marys lamenting over the empty tomb."Oil on copper.Presents loss and adapted frame from the 18th century. It has an inscription on the back.Measures: 22 x 18 cm; 31 x 27 cm (frame). The composition barely lets us see a small fragment of sky as the only opening, since the rest of the background is occupied by a tree trunk, of which some branches can be seen. In the foreground is the tomb of Christ, clearly empty (it is seen open, with the shroud coming out of it). Behind, the figure of Mary Magdalene stands out, identified thanks to the bottle of perfume resting on the surface that serves as a seat, and her loose hair, as well as by the beam of light that emerges from her head. And, to the right, we see the other two Marys who were part of this moment (Gospel of Mark 16:1; tradition has named all three Mary), Mary of Cleophas and Mary Salome. The Latin inscription "Tulerum dominum meum" (The Lord is with us) appears on the tomb.
