簋是中国青铜器时代标志性青铜器之一，其历史非常古老，新石器晚期即有陶簋出现，商周时流行青铜材质的簋。它是古代中国用于盛放煮熟饭食的器皿，也用作礼器，所谓“天子九鼎八簋”，并以此从诸侯到士大夫类推分列。《周礼·冬官考工记》载:“旎人为簋，实一觳，崇尺。”又《周礼·地官·舍人》云:“凡祭祀，共簠簋。”这些记载都说明簋在古代礼仪制度中的尊贵地位与作用。 此炉侈口微外撇，束颈，圆鼓腹，圈足微外撇；双肩附对称夔龙吞柄耳，轩昂沉稳，颇具威严；底铸刻「大明宣德年制」六字楷书款。整器厚重古朴，具有较高的艺术价值。
