A George III silver vase shaped coffee pot by David Smith and Robert Sharp, London, 1776, with a vase shaped finial to the conical cover, beaded borders, a fruitwood loop handle, a cast curved spout, on a conforming pedestal base, engraved with a crest, 33cm (13in) high, 1088g (34.95 oz) gross Provenance: The Lord Hesketh, Easton Neston. Blazon of crest: a gauntlet erect proper between two ostrich plumes. This disinctive crest is unrepresented in any of the indexes of the UK which include Ireland. Its absence suggests that it is an unrecorded and assumed crest that cannot be linked to any granted arms.
