An ebony tsuka (sword hilt) and an ebony kozuka The tsuka by Kanenori, the kozuka by Toryusai Kozan, 19th century The tsuka carved in relief on an ishime ground with a recumbent ox and an inlaid ivory oxherd playing a flute, the finial carved with the head of a baku, signed Sanuki no kuni Kanenori saku, 16.5cm (6½in) long; the kozuka carved in sunk relief with a running dragon, the reverse of pale wood and the open end mounted with bone, signed Kozan with a kao.
