A gold-lacquer and inlaid four-case inro By Toha, 19th century The somewhat flattened vertical rectangular body with a rogin-nuri ground decorated with a sarumawashi (monkey trainer) moving a rope curtain aside with his stick as he walks with his performing monkey on his back, lacquered in gold and slight coloured takamaki-e and inlaid with shell, the interior of nashiji with kinji edges; signed Toha saku. 7.9cm (3 1/8in).
