A black-lacquer four-case inro By Kanshosai Toyo, 19th century The black lacquer ground embellished with sparse mura-nashiji and lacquered in gold and slight coloured togidashi maki-e with an open fan among wakamatsu (pine seedlings), the interior of black lacquer with kinji edges; signed Kanshosai with a kao. 8.5cm (3 3/8in) high.
