龙蛋作为较早之古式壶型之一，创制于明代。今所见之龙蛋，多为朱泥或紫泥调砂胎身，鲜有例外。此件龙蛋砂质颗粒感强，合龙蛋壶式之气概。盖上所立之蘑菇钮意趣盎然，壶盖上隆，与壶身结合给人以更为丰腴之感。壶把内平而外圆，刚柔并济。整壶造型敦厚可爱，足供赏玩。
