A sapphire, seed pearl and diamond pendant, c.1910, of scrolling foliate form. A circular mixed cut sapphire, milligrain set to the centre, with a trefoil cluster border of graduated seed pearls. Graduated old Swiss cut and old eight cut diamonds, milligrain set throughout to a diamond set bale and suspended on a trace chain. 43 x 28mm, 5.64g Condition report: Light surface marks commensurate with its age. Gemstones bright and lively. Visible inclusion to the sapphire under 10x magnification. Evidence that it originally had a brooch fitting as well. It would probably have had a pendant drop below. Bale possibly very slightly later. Tested as approximately 18ct white gold. Tested as approximately 18ct faced with platinum. Chain tested as approximately 9ct white gold. Replacement single row safety clasp set with marcasite., marked sterling silver.
