A diamond and synthetic sapphire bombé ring, c.1940, with an old European cut diamond, with an estimated weight of approximately 0.74ct, rub set to the centre. A conical border of concentric wires forming a bombé head with six applied radiating plates, each spitch set with pairs of rectangular step cut or scissor cut synthetic sapphires, to tapered shoulders and a plain shank. Tested as approximately platinum. Head 20.6mm diameter, 23.63g. Finger size J LE Condition report: Seven sapphires chipped. Others abraded with worn facet edges. Marks to the mount consistent with wear. Light sanding marks to the back of the shank.
