An Italian gold ruby and diamond bow spray brooch, c.1950, with four graduated ribbon loops, and a row of Swiss cut diamonds claw set in white gold collets to one. A row of round mixed cut rubies claw set to another with two fern sprays and two arched wire stems, each terminating in a circular mixed cut ruby, with a pin and roller catch. Marked 750, tested as approximately 18ct gold. 49 x 40mm, 11.65g Condition report: Dirty with patch tarnish. Some surface-reaching inclusions on the rubies, one with a chip on the crown facets and table. A small repair at the roller catch where it joins the brooch. Pin slightly floppy. Surface marks/scratches to gold. The rubies to the end of the stems are not fully faceted, but appear to be in the preform state. Surface reaching inclusions to two of the diamonds. Surface reaching inclusions to the rubies. Pin is a little bent at the end.
