A WILLIAM & MARY WALNUT AND LINE INLAID SIDE TABLE CIRCA 1690 69cm high, 89cm wide, 55cm deep Condition Report: There are marks, scratches, cracks, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. There is evidence of worm. The top has a construction joint crack; there are various dowels/pegs and nails fixing the top to the base; the two planks of the top are slightly bowed and undulating with fillets of wood to the underside filling the gap between the top and the base; the top has marks, chips, some deep gouges and cracks; the corners rounded with wear and worm. The top of the legs with cracks and repaired, one with a section of new timber; some filler to an area of the base. There are traces of a dark stain remaining; a replacement section to one of the stretchers; the feet worn, reduced in height and with worm. The drawer handles and escutcheons are later.
