A SET OF TWELVE CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS IN GEORGE III STYLE, 19TH CENTURY To include a pair of armchairs, each with a tapestry covered drop-in seat each 95.5cm high, 55cm wide, 54cm deep overall Condition Report: There are marks, scratches, cracks, chips, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. The drop in seats have woolwork upholstery in various conditions, some loose and with dipping seat centres, others tighter and plumper. The woolwork does not quite extend far enough on all the sides of the canvas so that there are some sections of bare canvas visible. Some of the woolwork is in more of a worn and aged condition than other woolwork seats, with some fading, wear, stains and marks. One chair has a slightly different coloured thread to half the blue ground colour. One drop in seat has upholstery that is not fixed on one edge with the horsehair and cotton wadding coming out. There is some evidence of worm, but with few visible holes. Some fading to the backs of some of the chairs, some of the crest rails have a gap in the joint area; some rubbing to the dark staining revealing an underlying lighter coloured timber. There are some splits to the tops of the leg joints where they join the seat rails. Some repairs overall. Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition.
