A 'DEITIES AND WARRIORS' LACQUER BOWL, BURMA, 18TH-19TH CENTURY The deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot, finely lacquered in red, black, and green with a continuous scene of deities and warriors as well as musicians and dancers, interspersed with inscribed rectangular reserves, framed by bands of scrolling and diapered designs as well as hatched lines, the countersunk base with a central floral design. Provenance: Ancient Dutch private collection, acquired in the 1900s by the grandfather of the present owner while exploring Tibet, China, and Burma during the late 19th and early 20th century. Condition: Good original condition, commensurate with age, with old wear, natural age cracks, small chips along the rim, few minuscule losses. Fine patina.
