A BANDED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. Well hollowed, the rounded square body rising from a thick oval foot to a short cylindrical neck with slightly concave top. The transparent beige body encircled around the midsection with concentric translucent white and gray bands. Provenance: From a French private collection. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and few minuscule nicks. The stone with natural inclusions, some of which may have developed into microscopic hairline cracks over time.
