A RARE HONGMU TWO-PART 'ARMORIAL CRESTED' DISPLAY CABINET Late Qing Dynasty Resting on four claw feet, the lower section fitted with a cupboard, the doors finely carved in low relief with flowering peonies issuing from curling and leafy stems, revealing a shelf and two drawers to the interior, the upper part with a geometric arrangement of superimposed open shelves, the cornices carved with openwork scrolling flowers and foliage designs, the pierced cresting carved with scrolling acanthus leaves enclosing a family crest featuring a lion sejant rampant holding a cross crosslet in its paws and a cross in its mouth. 217cm (85 3/8in) high x 126cm (49 1/2in) wide x 42cm (16 1/2in) deep.
