此物即为明代早期仿商周青铜爵。爵为古代的青铜酒具，在结盟、会盟、出师、凯旋、庆功、宴会时，为贵族阶层饮酒之用。明清时期“爵”便有了加官进爵、庆祝高升的吉祥文化寓意。该件爵杯为椭圆形，口部前伸为槽形流，流口宽厚，另一端为上翘尖状尾翼；杯体与下流相交处为一对柱，上为蘑菇形帽。杯腹饰兽面纹一圏，其间有棱脊平分，腹一侧铸，下有三棱锥形三足。整器以精铜为材，胎体厚重，端庄典雅，包浆古朴厚重。兽面纹饰突出，线条精细优美，保存完好，珍贵难得。
