I think it is a very generous offer. I am afraid these awful worries which have made both of us ill were inevitable. I suppose I should never have gone to Weston to live, in the first place still less, ever married and had two children. Latterly, when the income was so low, of course it was impossible, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, my darling, but at the same time I cannot forget the interpretation Philip Frere has put on all my actions, . . . when I have been made ill trying to keep things going. I know you understand this, and have not taken these things at their worst interpretation as you might have done . . . Christabel has given us Rex's lovely little painting of Weston which really is too generous for words especially considering that she has had to sell a lot of things to make ends meet . . . We are going to Spain again, leaving on April 21st by which time poor Francis should be swallowed up by the navy . . . We have seen Penelope and Reresby once or twice with moderate success, Sachie still cant take her, she wont unbend an inch even to me . . .
