Of the V Dragoon Guards, of Weston, Towcester, Northamptonshire.Harriet WRIGHTSON was born 1788 at Cusworth, Yorkshire the daughter of William WRIGHTSON (1752-1827) of Cusworth Hall, Whig MP for Aylesbury by Henrietta HEBER (1766-1820). She married twice: Firstly in 1819, Frederick Silvester North DOUGLAS (1791-1819) MP for Banbury, only son of Silvester DOUGLAS (1743-1823), 1st Baron Glenbervie, by Catherine Anne NORTH (1760-1817) daughter of Frederick NORTH (1732-1792), 2nd Earl of Guilford. Secondly in 1824, Col. Henry HELY-HUTCHINSON born 1790 in Wexford, Ireland 2nd son of Francis HELY-HUTCHINSON (1759-1828) by Frances Wilhelmina NIXON (died 1830), and grandson of John HELY-HUTCHINSON (1724-1794) who on his marriage in 1751 to Christiana NICKSON (1732-1788) adopted the family name and arms of HUTCHINSON after his wife inherited the estates of Richard HUTCHINSON. We should therefore expect that the panel was painted in the period 1824-1864 during Harriet's second marriage.The blazon for the first armorial: quarterly of four - 1,4: per pale gules and azure, a lion rampant between six crosses crosslet or (Hutchinson). 2,3: gules, a fess argent between in chief three stag's heads erased or and in base a demi lion rampant of the last (Hely).
