本品撇口，长颈，球形腹，圈足。颈部轮廓秀美，腹部浑圆，外足端起唇边。口沿青花如意纹，颈部绘缠枝莲纹，其下为海水纹，腹部主题纹饰亦为缠枝莲纹，下接仰覆莲纹，近足部饰一圈卷草纹。其意喻深刻，“青”代表“清”，“莲”代表“廉”，“青”“莲”合在一起，包含着封建社会的意愿，希望时政“清廉”。 赏瓶因其外形俊秀、线条柔美、比例协调，深得清朝历代君王的喜爱。其器形为雍正督窑官唐英“参古今之式，动以新意，备储巧妙”而奉旨审定的款式。初名“玉堂春瓶”，因雍正帝专用于赏赐功臣，赏瓶成了玉堂春瓶的专指代称。
