此件柄形器采用上好的白玉琢刻而成，玉质温润，通体受沁显黄色。器为长条形，首尾均呈梯形，颈部内束并刻饰两道弦纹，器身雕饰四层阴阳错落的羽翅纹，表面保留明显的打磨痕迹，具有西周时期风格特征。柄形器是商周玉器中最常见的礼器类玉器，自夏代出现，而至春秋战国时期消失，其用途众说纷纭。整器造型优美，雕琢精细，表现出极高的制玉水平。 参考：《中国古代玉器艺术》（中国国家博物馆编）P53，商晚期 柄形器。
