识文：临帖如骤遇异人，不必相其耳目手足头面，当观其举止笑语精神流露处，庄子所谓目击而道存者也。苏子瞻自谓，悬帖壁间观之，所取得其大意。松雪欲补米赋，落笔辄止，曰，今人去古远矣。款识：春翁老叔，观承。钤印：宜田观承（朱） 和神当春（白）鉴藏印：泽公审定（白） 子翔集古（朱）
作者简介：方观承（1698～1768），字遐谷，号问亭，一号宜田，安徽桐城人。清朝大臣，乾隆二年，担任军机章京，转吏部郎中。历任内阁中书、直隶清河道台、直隶按察使、直隶布政使、直隶总督。
