A SANCAI JAR, LATE MING DYNASTY TO EARLY QING DYNASTY
China, early 17th to early 18th century. The ceramic vase of baluster form, decorated with mythical beast masks and bands of leaves in high relief, incised lotuses, with four looped handles to the neck. Covered overall in a sancai glaze of emerald-green and tones of ochre, with intentional crackling. The foot rim and bottom partly left unglazed to reveal the buff ware.
Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Good condition, signs of wear and weathering mostly to the glaze, minor nicks and shallow scratches, traces of use, smaller losses here and there, firing cracks and other imperfections, a small hole drilled for the thermoluminescence test on the bottom.
Scientific Analysis Report: A thermoluminescence analysis report issued by QED Laboratoire, Marseille, France, on 4 April 2021, based on sample number QED2113/FC-0202, sets the firing date of the sample taken at 300-400 years ago. A copy of the report, issued by QED Laboratoire, accompanies this lot.

中國,十七世紀初至十八世紀初。口微侈,四繫陶罐,飾有獸面紋具和卷葉花卉紋。整體覆蓋著翠綠色和赭色的三彩釉,釉面開片。足緣及足底部分未上釉,露淺黃色胎。

品相:狀況良好,釉料有磨損和風化跡象,輕微劃痕,使用痕跡,各處小缺損,燒裂瑕疵,底部鑽了一個小孔用於熱釋光測試。
