A MUGHAL MINIATURE PAINTING OF A LADY AT LEISURE
North India, late 18th to early 19th century. Ink, gouache, and gold on paper. Depicting a lady standing upon a low raised dais, draped in lilac robes revealing her breast, wearing a diaphanous veil with golden hems, earrings, pearl necklaces and jewel-set gold cuffs. Within gold-splashed blue and brown borders.
Provenance: From a South German private collection, assembled during the 1970s.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, soiling and few very minor losses along the margin.
Dimensions: Sheet size 21 x 28 cm, size incl. frame 30.5 x 40.5 cm
