Circa 1300-1400 AD, Egypt or Syria Exquisite and rare. A pair Mamluk era door handles possibly from a palace, mosque or state institution. The bronze door handle collars, wonderfully adorned with embossed circular Thuluth calligraphy typical of the period. The inscription begins with The sultan, the king of the Muslims. Size: Set of 2: L:445-450mm / W:215-195mm; 6.3kg Provenance: From a Private London collection of Mr. K.A.; previously acquired from Uk Art dealer in 2020.
