Circa 1900-1900 AD, Possibly India Weaved wool prayer mat, with geometric borders and floral centre. A Quranic ayah possibly 112 surrounds the head and shoulder area of the carpet. Two embroidered vases above the shoulder area read Allah (God) and correspond to the area when in prostration of the location of the worers guardian angles. Size: L:1720mm / W:1345mm; 6.9kg Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in France; previously in 1970s European collection.
