Measurements: Height: 13.375" Width/Length: 7.5" Diameter/Depth: 7.5" Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, meiping porcelain jar. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, heavy body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt under glazed blue, depicted of various water plants above thrashing Lishui waves. The shoulder with flowers blooms interspersed interlocking tendril and scrolling ruyi clouds on the collar. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy.
