Gifted and inscribed by Winston and Clementine Churchill to him and Eleanor Diana Kellett on the occasion of their marriage at Westminster Abbey on 15 April 1947. The son of the Earl of Halifax, who had been Viceroy of India (1926-31), Wood followed his father into politics, becoming a Conservative M.P. in 1950, serving in Churchill's Cabinet from 1951 to 1955; sold by Diana, Lady Holderness directly to the vendor.
