A SILK RANK BADGE MOUNTED ON A YELLOW-GROUND EMBROIDERY17th and 19th centuryThe blue-ground badge with gilt-thread decoration of Buddhist lion surrounded by Buddhist emblems, mounted on a yellow-ground silk panel divided in three registers shaped as a cusp, all embroidered with lotus flowers enclosing auspicious characters.60cm (23 5/8in) high x 74.5cm (29 1/4in) wideFor further information on this lot please visit theCondition Report: General rub and wear to the silk.Some loose gilt-threads from the ranking badge.Several darker stained areas to the yellow panel, mostly around the edges where the silk is more consumed. Some loose threads where the yellow silk has been cut. One silk patch added to the left corner of the top register.It has been later sewed to the cardboard where it is now enclosed.
