EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURYComprising of a saucer and three bowls, one with a lid; all decorated in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels; variously painted with mythological creatures, flowers, chrysanthemum mon, brocade patterns and geometrical designs, the dish with a mark reading Da Ming Chengua nian zhi, two bowls and the lid with the same four-character inscription reading fu kuei chang ch'un (longevity and everlasting prosperity), 15.9cm max. (5).Provenance: from an English private collection, London.Cf.
